Letters from Hadrian's Wall
03 Oct 2025There was a lot of fun in humanities when the children wrote a letter imagining they were a Roman soldier based at Hadrian's wall.
Once they'd written these, they were able to screw up their work and soak it in tea for an authentic aged look.
Form 4 have been focusing on 2D shape this week in maths. Although they initially thought it was straightforward, the vast array of different quadrilaterals proved a challenge. The children learned how to identify them by looking at right angles, parallel lines, lines of symmetry and side length. They also had a go at folding various shapes to find lines of symmetry.
In English, they have been writing their own version of The Tunnel. They've checked their punctuation carefully and focused on making their writing interesting by including adjectives, time connectives and adverbs.
In science, the children have been learning how our eyes work and comparing human eyesight with that of other animals.
