Life in the trenches
07 Nov 2025In the build up to Remembrance next week, Form 7 has been continuing to learn about the World Wars and how the decisions of the victorious nations in World War I, made in the Treaty of Versaille, may have directly contributed to the start of World War II.
The class have created infographics in humanities to explain key milestones in World War II and have used the events to inspire poems in English lessons about memories from the trenches. This is a topic that follows on perfectly from their trench building project before half term, in which some stunning trenches were built out of a variety of materials.
Also in the build up to Remembrance, some of our Form 7’s have enjoyed playing an active role in the selling of poppies around school. This is a responsibility that they have undertaken with great enthusiasm.
Elsewhere in school, Form 7 have been celebrating victory on the hockey pitch. A remarkable performance saw our team come first in the Bowl competition at the IAPS National Event.
This is an outstanding performance and all children involved should be very proud of themselves.
