Form 2's fantastic fables

Form 2 have been writing fables and sharing the moral with the rest of the class

This week Form 2 acted out the fable The tortoise and the hare. Then they changed the setting and wrote their own story versions. Each story had a moral which was relayed to the rest of the class.

Two members of the class took their work to show Mr McCarthy, having written such great stories. They were accompanied by another form member who had been so inspired by by our discussions about Scotland and all things Scottish, she had made her own fantastic Loch Ness Monster at home!

In Mathematics the children have been using rulers to measure various items and recording the results using centimetres and half centimetres. They worked in pairs to sequence the days of the week and the months of the year. They have also worked on time to reinforce o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.

In Science we discussed what it might be like to be blind and the children worked with a partner, one pretending to be blind and the other guiding. We realised it was very tricky and a little scary for some.
