Building bridges16 May 2019
Form 2 tackled an engineering challenge this week.
Form 2 have been problem solving in Mathematics, showing great perseverance as they faced some tricky challenges. They have been using coins and different counters as well as counting feet.
During English the children wrote a letter to Jack to ask for the golden harp and magic hen to be returned. We plan to post the letter and are all hoping for a reply. The children have also thought of many questions they want to ask the giant… Maybe he will return?
In Science the children have been measuring how far they could move their joints. They are so flexible!
In Humanities Form 2 have been learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the children became engineers for the afternoon. Their challenge was to build a bridge with their team out of newspaper which could carry the weight of an ambulance. We put the bridgest to the test later in the week.
