Our anthology of top poems

Form 3 have been finding favourite poems and practising their sporting skills.

In English this week the children have enjoyed exploring poetry and created a class anthology of their favourite poems. The class worked in groups of two to recite and learn different poems to share with their friends. Their recitals and performance of the poems was a joy to watch. The children also explored the vocabulary of the poems which reinforced their understanding of different word classes.

In Maths, our focus has been on the concept of division as sharing into equal groups. The children have used manipulative equipment, pictorial representations and more abstract methods to solve division equations. The children have also solved word problems involving division to put their skills to the test.

Finally, the wet start to the week did not dampen spirits and the children continued to develop and improve their hockey and football skills.

The children have settled in brilliantly to life in Form 3 and worked very hard this half term. Well done everyone! Have a wonderful half term break.
