Prefects, stars and a dicey challenge

A team Form 7 took part in the National Young Mathematician Competition this week.

We have celebrated seven pupils' elevation to the rank of Prefect this week, a role which demonstrates the faith that the rest of the pupils have in the responsibility and ability to represent them at the top of the School. The Stars in Form 7, also awarded badges, now have the opportunity to become Prefects over the coming terms.

The National Young Mathematician Competition took place on Wednesday. It involves teams of four working on challenging maths tasks, competing with schools across the area. The teams are judged on how well they use their problem-solving skills to think like mathematicians and how well they work as a team. The members of Form 7 representing Russell House at the competition acquitted themselves beautifully, solving dice-based problems. We look forward to hearing the results next week.
